Bound volumes of verses and songs and ledgers from the Germania Club, which was founded in 1865 and known as the Germania M⁴nnerchor. The club was initially very interested in musical traditions and the collection consists of multiple volumes filled with verses, songs, and programs for musical events in German, ca. 1880s-1890s. Also present are three ledgers detailing the accounts of the club, 1939-1941 and 1948. In 1889 the club constructed a large building at the corner of Clark Street and Germania Place in Chicago (Ill.), and in 1902 it changed its name to the Germania Club.
